This is nice, but.... It took a lot longer to put together than I wanted. The wood is not finished, so you need to do that yourself. That also adds to the cost. I bought a "green" varnish for the inside and regular for the outside. Be careful not to split the wood screwing together the boxes if you are off center. The top and bottom are not sharp edges which is very nice and it came with the metal bars for support in the middle. This is an ingenious system for keeping fresh herbs. I love cooking with them, but they spoil so fast, I end up throwing most of them out. But not since I bought this herb keeper.
