The top is a heavy board that is edge and finger joint glued together and finished in veneer. The legs are also fingerjointed boards. It generally looks nice, but the finish is quite sloppy. there are some rough spots where it was not thoroughly sanded too. I purchased this table because it was on sale. For the money it’s a very good desk. I was a little disappointed to see that the top came in two pieces, this is not noted in the description. The separation runs the full width of the desk. It joins together, just like a table that has a leaf, it’s secured from underneath, so it will not separate. There was some damage that I plan on having repaired with the credit that Wayfair issued. For the price, this was great. I like the color. It's sturdy. It didn't take too long to put together. I need to get an under desk organizer to hide the cords (and excuse the mess on the desk), but you can see from the photos how it looks in my space. It took 1-2 hours to put together; I used a drill for several parts of it even though it did not recommend doing that.
