A french cleat hanging system is a popular method for securely mounting objects, such as mirrors, cabinets, shelves, and other wall-mounted fixtures. The system consists of two interlocking cleats. One cleat will be mounted to the wall and the other cleat will be mounted to the object that needs to be hung. When hanging simply lower the object onto the cleat on the wall allowing the beveled edges to interlock. The weight of the object, along with the angle of the bevel, creates a secure and stable connection.
