This will take 2-3 people to assemble (3 people for the roof to make it easier). If you are putting this together yourself you and helper or two should be able to get it done in about 6 hours or so. Once correctly assembled it is very sturdy and is exactly what we were looking for a more permanent structure. This replaces an all cloth (with metal frame) gazebo that we had and it looks like it is going to last quite nicely. The mosquito netting on the top is a bit of a joke. It isn't big enough to fit all around the interior roof. By the time you get half of the net up, the other half starts coming off the Velcro. Maybe it will stretch out over time? PRO's: - Very Sturdy once all assembled and mounted down. - Shipped with a lot of foam padding and hard wood ends to protect the roofing from damage. - Minor bends from shipping that could be bent back with pilers. - Cloth curtains and inner bug netting does fit all around (if installed correctly) to fully enclose the gazebo. - Cloth curtains also appear to be made of good quality fabric. - Says it will hold up to 3,000 lbs of snow, and wind gusts up to 55 mph. Where I live it will test this! CON's: - 1 of the 3 boxes is EXTREMELY HEAVY. We are very happy with this gazebo. The wood quality is very good, and the finished product looks beautiful and sturdy in our backyard. Assembly was easier than expected. Two people in the family were able to put it together without hiring outside workers. The instructions were clear, and the parts fit together well. I would recommend wearing gloves during assembly to help avoid scratches or small injuries, and having a ladder will definitely make the process easier. One thing I would suggest is adding an extra coat of wood stain or sealer if you want more protection. I did that for mine because I want it to last longer. Even without it, I think the wood feels durable, but if you live in a humid area or want extra long-term protection, adding a wood sealer is a good idea. One of my favorite things is simply sitting inside the gazebo in the early morning or late afternoon. The shade, fresh air, and peaceful atmosphere make it a perfect place to relax and unwind. Nice pergola. Put it together by myself (with the help of a few ladders for temporary bracing. A few things…. There were many dents on several pieces but with overseas shipping I’m surprised there were not even more. It was also missing pieces that I will have to try to add later when hopefully the company will send me the parts. It does let rain through but not in large amounts. We read the reviews for this gazebo and purchased it despite the naysayers. We got a local quote to assemble it for $3,600. No thanks, we Just finished assembling the gazebo itself. It took a total of 20.5 hours over 5 days, including unboxing, parts inventory, staging and assembly. 16 hours with two people and 4.5 hours with 3 people. overall quality and engineering is pretty good. Only a couple of screw holes required modification (wall anchors). Instructions are not great, but usable if you read them several times and take your time. If you want to DIY this gazebo, make sure you have a couple of good step ladders, a decent cordless drill and 2 or 3 6-foot folding tables for laying out parts and to work on. If you try and assemble this kit with the tools provided, it will take you at least twice as long, maybe longer. Plan on working no more than 4 hours a day...it is tedious and tiring. Also, cooler weather and overcast days are better. We are a 65-year-old couple in decent health. If we can do this, anyone can with proper preparation, tools and patience.... Anonymous. I purchased a 10 foot and an 8‘ x 10 pergola. We put them side-by-side and we have created a beautiful area which will be a setting area and a hot tub area. The directions were a little complicated, but we got everything done without a problem. We built the big one on Saturday and the one on Sunday. The second was a breeze after building the first one.
