This shade was a great replacement for the old, yellow one that broke. It features a soft, bright matte white finish. Although it comes with a cap equipped with two holes for pull chains, only the center chain is functional because the opening is too narrow to use the fan chain—at least for my model of fan. This is a well-made, accurate globe with a raised relief to represent topography like mountain ranges. My one complaint is that the color of the holder looks a little darker in the online picture as though it were an antique brass finish, and the actual color is bright golden (spray-painted steel?), so uniform in color that it almost looks plastic.
