It is definitely darker than the photos show, more of a very dark gray. I assume it will fade some to a lighter gray, similar to what is show. The quality of this product is subpar. For spending almost 1k I would expect a little more. Metal that doesn’t crush or bend easily would be a start. The way Wayfair and Purple Leaf has handled delivered broken pieces is also incredibly frustrating. I paid for the Wayfair professional assembly and that didn’t go well, either. We love these so much we bought two….now three after one malfunctioned. A couple of months into our second swing bed we noticed it had a deep crack in the center front bench seat.
