In her latest capsule collection, Annie's friend and collaborator Bunny Williams was inspired by the unique geometric Kuba weaving of central Africa. The sacred Kuba designs are mathematical and rhythmic in vegetable-dyed earth tones and evolved from a number of techniques featuring flat weaving and cut pile, with patchwork, embroidery, and appliqué. The Cassia dhurrie weave rug has a balanced block motif woven onto alternating rectangles of natural, black and bleached oak. Hard working jute fiber is sophisticated and practical, especially for high traffic areas.

It’s ok. I get compliments on it, but like others have said the colors are muted and different in person than the picture. I notice now when rug pictures on Wayfair have overly saturated green or wood colors in the background, they photoshopped the colors on this one too. Also, the wool yarn is really thick, which maybe means it’s less durable because there’s less stitching. Compared to an antique Persian rug I have, it’s clearly less well made. But, it seems fine. I had to replace a rug I loved (bought on Wayfair years ago) and I had been eyeing this one for a while. So glad I got it! It leans gray-beige which is perfect for my colors. Beautiful pattern. I’m concerned about the quality though. Upon delivery I needed to repair 3 spots where the binding along the outer edges was already fraying. I expected higher quality for the price I paid for a 9’ round carpet. I would have considered returning it but It was too big and bulky for me at 63 years old to try to repack it and carry it out to return.
