If it is in the backyard where we knew they were going to get light from the sun. When they came on once it was dark, we realized that they were not as strong as we would prefer them to be. Pretty cool lights. I know they are for a fence but they are a little too wide for my fence so I will have to rethink where I will use them probably on my deck, but for now Im using them on my pathway. These solar post lanterns are very heavy with real glass. They did not come with the square post top fittings as shown in the photo but instead must be screwed to the top of a post. These solar lights are beautiful but I have tried and tried to remove the plastic cover off the solar panel area on one of them. I even read that I could use warm water and that did not work. I also read you can warm it up with a blow dryer and that did not work. I am being extra careful to not damage the surface.
