It's a VERY pretty fan. The blades are a very light gray wash look - high end. I got the Nickel finish motor. On/off via light switch and then the remote controls everything. Most fans I run at speed 1 for sleeping and that creates some air movement. But this fan doesn't push a lot of air, so i have to use speed 2 or 3 to get the same effect. This is in a guest room, which is rarely used, so that's fine for my needs. But if you need a fan that REALLY creates a breeze in a room, this is NOT the one. (Minus a star for that).. Tamara954. Our newest, best, and easiest to use control. This system controls four fan speeds in forwarding and full-range light dimming. To better adapt to the changing world of light bulb technology, this control system features a CFL Auto-Detect feature that prohibits light dimming if non-dimming CFL bulbs are used in the fan. It also is our first control that eliminates dip switches and frequency interference through the use of Learning Code Synchronization. Similar to garage door programming, the fan, and control are paired together when installed with a unique pairing code automatically. I love this ceiling fan! It looks great in my space, very bright light, and the fans speed does exactly what it needs to do! It’s quiet too! The only problem we had with assembly was the receiving box… directions should have told us to begin with to place it on with the mount. Other than that, for our first time it wasn’t too bad.
