For me it’s limiting because the only way to turn it on is via the button on the wire at the base but where I have to plug it in the button is under other furniture. Simplicity at its brightest, the harper floor lamp produces plenty of ambient illumination in a slim package. The minimalistic satin steel pole body is steadied by a round metal base. Light is gently diffused through a white linen fabric shade with a frosted diffuser. An Adesso patented 300-watt double socket construction allows for two crisscrossed sockets, each holding on/off 150-watt incandescent or led bulbs which provide approximately 3 times more light than a typical torchiere. A simple high/low rotary switch is located on the shade cup to adjust the brightness. This lamp has a black cord and is smart outlet compatible. Bulbs are not included. Note: use incandescent bulbs up to 150w or dimmable led bulbs (do not use: 3-way bulbs or CFLs. We recommend using incandescent bulbs for best results achieving both settings of 50% brightness and 100% brightness with no flicker. When using led bulbs, it is common to see some flicker on the low setting (the high setting will always have no flicker). A dimmable led will minimize the low-setting flicker, but may still occur.

I love this lamp. I had one that I have had for serval years that was in my home office. I wanted to move this into my bedroom next to our nightstands, once I did so I knew this was exactly the look I was wanting in there. Then I tried to reorder the original one and alas it was out of stock and remained so for the past several months. I was only finding versions that were at least $1k in price and out of my budget. Then, hurray, this lamp popped up in my most recent search. It is identical to my existing one. So well made all of metal with a nice heavy metal base.
