This is a great wall decor piece that brings life and color to any wall or room. This one is a half arch. If you wish to put them outside, a very thick coat of sealer will keep them intact. This is handmade out of wood and iron and painted in different layers of paint.

Pediments are the portion of the trim that is located above the pilasters, which are the column like frames on the sides of windows and doors. Directly below the pediments though, between the pediment and the pilasters, is a crosshead or breast board. The crosshead is the flatter, protruding section directly above the door. Pediments can be purchased by themselves or can come with a crosshead already attached. These Pediments are manufactured out of a high-density urethane, which is made to resemble wood without the maintenance required by wood products. Urethane products are resistant to cracking, splitting and rotting. They are usually less expensive than wood alternatives.

This product is hand-chiseled out of recycled steel oil drums by Haitian artisans using techniques first developed by Georges Liautaud in the late 1950s when he chalked out his first design on a flattened steel oil drum and then cut it out by hand with a mallet and chisel. As each piece is handmade, their final dimensions and finish may vary slightly.

Bought the primed functional half round gable vent, and am happy with the solid construction. Before painting needed to remove the insect screen, which was stapled to the back, to avoid getting paint on the screen.
