This is a very nice-looking table. I like the dark color of the wood, I like the shelf underneath, and I like the rounded edges. The wood top is very smooth, too. Unfortunately, there is a little scratch right on the top that is noticeable. This didnt take more than about twenty minutes to put together. If there is something I would change, there are screws right on the legs where the lower shelf attaches. Those screws dont have any covers, and they are in spots on the legs that are clearly visible, so I just stare at flaws. And, this is just an aside I really dont understand why companies put labeling stickers in places where they could be problematic if they dont come off easily. There was a labeling sticker right on the top of this table. It did come off easily and didnt happen to cause a problem, but it was needlessly placed on the wrong side.. Lisa Burdick. Ilion, NY. It looks as pictured. When the drawer is facing the sofa, the back of the drawer cannot be seen, so it looks really sleek and clean from the other side. My only disappointment is that the top is finished in a matte acrylic. I'm sure it was done to help protect it from spills and such, but real wood (solid, no veneers) like this should have some shine to the surface. Up close, matte on real wood makes it look and feel (!) like Formica. It's still a really good deal for the money and we're happy with it. Oh, and oddly, the drawer itself is made from solid wood and has smooth-acting metal slides, which was a nice surprise. The originator knows how to box!
