Beautiful shower but read reviews and watch videos! The shower works perfectly if installed correctly but there are a few steps vital to the installation that are not mentioned. 1. The fittings that go into the plumbing are European and not NPT. They are knuckled and very loose once screwed in. If you try to use plumbers tape the knuckled ridges will tear it off.. You therefore must use pipe sealant (all the reviews describing this step have been taken off, i assume the sites didn't want to promote brands of pipe sealant so I won't include any in the review) or it will leak. Once the sealant is applied you have a few minutes to adjust it properly but it will not move anymore once dry so be careful! 2. The temperature can be adjusted by removing the cap over the thermostat and unscrewing the module. There is a plastic ring with small increments that let you increase the temperature and reposition the module, otherwise you will have a cold shower even if you turn it past the safety zone.. P0901C Thermostatic Exposed Complete Shower System Chrome finish. I’m extremely impressed with the quality of this all brass shower system. The weight of the faucet and the finish just screams quality. The thermostatic controls allow you to set your desired temperature. Once set all you do is turn the water on. The water control is a quarter turn, it’s basically on or off. The rain head is exactly as advertised but I could see that some may not like the low flow desire higher pressure. I know my wife will not be using this shower when she washes her hair but for me it’s fine. If that is a concern you may consider getting one with the hand wand. The SC-1220-AF features 1/4-turn ceramic cartridges and four-arm cross handles with color-coded indexes. The valve body is reversible on 6-in. centers. Included with the SC-1220-AF is an S-2272-E2 showerhead. This product is approved for outdoor use if the entire unit is winterized. The unit must be drained of all water in freezing conditions, which includes removing the valve cartridge and shower head from the unit. Store the valve cartridge and shower head indoors.

This hasn’t been attached to the water system yet. We had to wait for the plumbers to come. They said it would be a two-step process. But we love the height of the showerhead. Very nice shower system. It can be a bit finicky to put together as the tile / wall anchors tend to not go in straight and will kick all different directions. Hands down the biggest complaint is the use of the T-10 torx bit screws / bolts used to hold the main / top fitting. The T-10 torx depths are shallow and become very easy to strip. Because of how tight the wall anchors are when inserting into the 5/16" pilot hole, it makes turning the screw / bolt difficult and easy to strip. Couple suggested improvements for Grohe would be a make the T-10 torx bit screw / bolt deeper so stripping becomes less of a potential issue. It would be nice if Grohe sold the diverter handle and cap as a replacement part as it is one of the main wear items and easy to replace. Last suggestion would be to have a longer main pipe then the 25" version. A 36" version would be perfect. My unit appears to be that long because of the 6" extension for the rain shower head. Outside of that, the rest of the system is very well made. Time will tell how it holds up but excellent as far as one of the very few retrofit shower systems out there today.
