I ordered the 50in linear electric fireplace for my bedroom and I love it. This is the second electric fireplace I have gotten and the other one I got was by a different brand and while I really like it, I like this one even more for its very subtle controls. I had to really zoom in so you can see them. From standing height you cannot see the switch and you cannot see the blacked out controls on the face of the fireplace. I have tried several electric log sets and been extremely disappointed. Nothing on the market that’s a log set looks close to being a real fire experience. But this Napoleon sets comes closest. I assembled it myself in about 30 minutes. Instructions were easy. The “glowing fire “ could be more realistic, the flames could be higher and wider and the blower on the heater could be quieter. I paid much more for other log sets that couldn’t hold a candle (or flame ) to this set. Works good and looks nice but it would have helped if the remote control worked. There’s no way to dim the lights without the remote so it is very bright when the room is dark. Update… Contacted the manufacturer directly and they fixed the issue. They were very responsive and sent a free replacement remote control and panel. They guided me through the whole process of pairing the remote and followed through a few days later to see how everything was working. Now it is working 100 perfect!! Arrived a day late but was well packed. Laid out in a way that the top pieces are the ones you need to assemble first. No digging for the next piece. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The firebox was less than we hoped for. The flames were not of high quality like we've had on a different electric fireplace we had, and it seems like it consists of a bulb inside a spinning drum to get the effect, which would be OK, but the spinning drum makes more noise than you'd expect and detracts from the whole effect. Summary: The mantel is awesome. The firebox, much less than awesome. Wish I could replace just the firebox with something better.
