I sifted through tons of reviews on different loft beds and after a couple of months of thinking on it, decided to pull the trigger on this one. I’m so glad I did! Despite being made of particle board style wood, it is actually very sturdy. There are tons of screws and lots of support for each piece. I put it together myself and it took several hours over the course of 3 days. The instructions were pretty clear for the most part. The only thing I don’t like is how close to the ceiling it is, however that’s my fault for not measuring. If I had taller ceilings it would be perfect! I am 5’3” and can stand underneath with my head only slightly tilted downward, so there is a good amount of space underneath. My 8-year-old son absolutely loves it. If your child is on the cusp of a growth spurt and you have average-height ceilings then I would maybe not get this one because of how tall it is. But otherwise I would highly recommend it!. Tori. Update: This took 5 inexperienced people weeks to put together because it has so many parts. My daughter and her friend accidentally dropped the stair part over when assembling it and the screws ripped right through the top. Wayfair was kind and sent us new parts to replace them quickly. I got stickers to cover the screws because I don't like the big visible screw look. My daughter loves the ample storage and the food use of space in her room. We decided to assemble the bed as a family project, and I must say it takes quite a bit of work — but it was worth it for the joy it brought to our son. However, the space underneath has very limited height, and at most a 6-year-old child can fit comfortably. Our son is 8, and he cannot stand under the desk area. I imagine this style of bed is really best suited for younger children. We will likely need to replace it soon, as the space underneath has become almost useless given our son’s height. He did enjoy it while it lasted. One of the hinges on the storage steps also broke rather easily, without much effort. I would say this bed is worth it if your child is 8 or younger, keeping in mind that the space underneath won’t be usable for long. It’s ok quality, at the prices point you are getting what you paid for. Took my husband most of the day to put together. There are a lot of noticeable screw hopes. It’s very sturdy and my daughter loves it! A lot of storage places for small things. One of the draw backs on appearance is the bolts are visible all over, I wish we could cover those up.
