Everyone loves a beautiful hardwood stairway, but even the most attractive stairs can be slippery for anyone in the family, including pets. These non-slip Carpet Stair Treads can add safety to your steps, not to mention an extra layer of warmth and comfort. With a simple solid design, it easily complements the natural beauty of your steps and home.

These are amazing! I have slipped down our all wood tread stairs twice. The first time, I broke a coupla ribs. The second time I slipped I was three stairs from reaching the carpeted basement, holding our puppy. This last time I was just furious and fed up with them. I called a carpet place immediately and had someone come out to provide a bid for a runner but then? I just thought I'd check Wayfair. . . Wow. I am SO happy I did and with the help of all the five-star reviews on these, I ordered the closest color and best pattern. They are amazing!!! They adhere well to the treads, they fit the bullnose and I no longer have to clutch the railing like my life depends on it. Not to mention our little furry friend will be more likely to learn to go up and down, with these in place. If this is an item you need? Just buy them. Figure out which ones look best because they probably won't match your existing carpet, and then love your stairs. Also our steps are varying widths. We center the top stair in each flight, and then used a pattern to make sure the distance on the left side (in the image) was consistent. I am a discerning customer and it was important to me that these looked good and felt good under foot. They do both. With a nice finished edge all around, they lay flat and the adhesive makes them grip firmly.. Sue Brandon. Fort Lauderdale, FL. Tue Oct 20 2026

Almost perfect—- would have liked the runners to be about 1/2-3/4” deeper. But still an improvement over what was replaced.. Carole. Lebanon, PA. Fri Sep 11 2026

I love these. They are perfect for my new stairwell. We wanted to change the visual in the stairs and this does the trick. Just subtle enough but still pretty. These are medium duty stair treads. This is my second purchase, the first set were used on my back stairs and have held up nicely for almost a year and a half and still perform and look good. I stapled them on the back stairs, but don't recommend doing that, the cheapo staples rusted. I used double-sided Gorilla tape on the current installation, I'll revisit this review in a year or so and report on how well the adhesion method held up.. Heather. Big Island, Hawaii. Perfect for my stairs, and it matched my stair railing. Im surprised that its also soft and cushiony. Pnevans. Lebanon. Sat Oct 03 2026

I'm really happy with these stair carpets- it was hard to find ones with the correct dimensions for my staircase which has pretty thick edging, and in the color that matches my painted stairs and is textured. I was worried they weren't going to be soft/cushioned enough, but the cross texture feels comfortable on my feet and adds that extra traction I was looking for. All around a great purchase! *Some things to note- it was hard to peel the thin plastic off the back, so just take your time with it, and make sure the Velcro truly lines up with the carpet edge or it will look crooked and not stick right. When instructions say 2inches out, they really mean that. We were off by maybe 1/16th inch and it wouldn't stay folded underneath correctly.. Anonymous. Sun Jul 19 2026
