These are exactly what I was looking for. I had purchased, from a local hardware store, what I thought were quality mats. I used 2 mats at the top of a ramp in my back yard. The hill is steep and slippery -- there are fruit trees on the terrace that need watering. I used the L shaped parts that are supposed to go over the step edges to anchor the mats into the dirt at the top and bottom. This doormat looks like it will work great for grabbing dirt from outside on shoes and paws so it doesn’t track into the house. The reason I think this is that the material is rougher, and woven so that surface up close is not smooth and flat. It’s more like a loop weave. I am not sure how absorbent it will be, but it does seem like you could absorb excess fluid with a towel if needed.
