The paint is plenty thick and has a nice powder coat finish to it, which helps in the protection of the paint. Straightforward to put together. Directions say 2 people; I easily did my 2 alone. LOTS of screws - in tight spaces. My fingers did get sore. Not heavy steel, though what I expected for the price. I bought these to help reduce the wind that we get on our deck. We have them attached to the railings. Last year we had to chase our furniture a few times during our wind storms but not this year. They worked very well as a wind break. They definitely had to be secured well to keep them in place. They look very nice and add to the look of our deck instead of taking away.
