The bowl is definitely a statement piece and works well in the room. It’s a painted bowl and it did have sloppy painting splashed on the inside, which is why I rated it four stars versus five. The original of this grand statement piece was created by a Portuguese artist whose work first caught the designer's eyes at an art fair in Portugal. It took years of collaboration to arrive at this design that can be consistently produced. Multiple pieces are cast, bound together, and fired.
