Ive been looking for a water fountain for quite some time. I wanted something that would provide conversation privacy from my neighbors, drown out some freeway noise, yet still sound tranquil. What I love about this fountain is the shape, size and overall modern style. Its a heavy solid piece, and it sounds wonderful with just the perfect amount of water flow. Wayfair Delivery was quick and amazing, and my contractor put it together in less than a hour. Everything is built-in, so once you get it centered and level, you just add water and plug it in. Simple, easy concept design! Its more textured than I expected, and unfortunately there are minor nicks all around the exterior and along the rim. I already wrote a terrible review. Not sure where it went however. Anyway I had bought this for my husbands birthday. And even had a handyman schedules to pour a little base the day after. . Anyway. I opened up the package and it was completely broken. Wayfair said they would refund the full amount. WOW. big deal. that the least they could do. At this point the fact it's a bday present was ruined. Because they couldn't send out the same fountain because they were backordered. And had no idea when I was to expect them to come into stock. This does me know good. I also had to pay for a cancellation fee for my handyman. Wayfair was not using a good customer service. Wouldn't even offer to make the deal worth my while. what a pain!! ps. I've got it assembled and working well...but...as others have indicated, the design of the plug in the bottom of the fountain, through which the power cord runs, is absurd. It comes with a bit of plumbers putty, which is supposed to create a waterproof seal around the cord, but doesn't stand a chance of doing so. You'll likely have to use silicone and it's a sloppy, messy application. It is suggested that this fountain top is not left outside in the winter. Once the top fills with water and snow and freezes, the top may crack. All fountain bases should be raised off the ground in winter so they will not freeze to the ground surface. Ideally, a fountain should be stored indoors in the winter away from the elements. However, if a fountain bowl must be left outside, remove all pumps, rubber stoppers, drain pipes, finials, and small components, cover the top with burlap or any absorbent material, and then wrapped with dark plastic, making sure that water does not accumulate in the basin and freeze. Fountain pumps, finials, and other small components should be stored indoors. Check the fountain periodically to ensure that the cover is secure and water is not accumulating in any fountain component.
