I am very happy with this hood. The quality of build seems solid, installation instructions were very clear, and it I think it looks great. It takes some planning and work to get it installed. You have to make sure your ceiling joists and ductwork is going the right direction or be prepared to do some modifications. I have a soffit and had to take down a bunch of drywall to modify the framing, run the 14/3 romex for the light/fan and modify the ducting. Then I replaced the drywall, taped, texture, paint and installed the hood. Fortunately it all came together nicely. I was able to held the hood in place while my wife drive the screws into the framing. I think it will be worth it in the end because the hood won’t be blocking the view in front of our cooktop.. All in all we like the hood, but for the price there were some issue. For one, two sides of the column had a smoother brushed finish than the other two. Also, some small specs of rust have appeared on the finish. If I had to guess I would say some iron particles were left behind by the brushing process. Only things to criticize is that the timer beeper is way too faint to hear it (need to use a kitchen timer), and that with the large grate layout the burners were not spaced farther apart to take better advantage for large pots. It's functionality is good and has a blue light on the knobs indicating which burner is on which I really like. Well this is a great product but putting it together was a lot! The instructions were hidden along with the screws necessary for installation.
