they are sturdy once you have the dirt in them, but seem a bit flimsy when empty. Be careful filling them, as I had my neighbor help me fill with his john deer and we had to go very slowly and level the dirt in layers so it didnt warp the shape. Still putting this thing together. It's a lot of assembly and you have to fold the metal parts yourself (not that difficult to do, just cumbersome).
