Comes largely put together and you have to slot in a couple of pieces and that is it. Took 15 mins with 2 of us. Fabric is surprisingly good for the price and is nice to the touch. The seat part of the sofa is not hard but not soft. I would say medium to soft but this is understandable given it is a sofa bed and I am overall very impressed with its comfort. Good for the price, cushions could be more cushiony but thats an endless scale so no complaints. Assembled relatively quickly and the ideal fold out mechanism where the weight bearing is in no question, cant snap up and convert you into a pancake like a bad spring loaded mechanism or murphy bed. Only think I would say is unless you have already bought million dollar molds make the bed part at least 5'10', because in the west a 5'6" will just not be sufficient, because more often than not your friend or person sleeping over is definitely above that height. Would cost your probably maybe 10-20 extra dollars on the manufacturing and next to nothing on material, would sell it probably significantly more because once you cross that threshold of 5'8" it goes from small sofa kind of a bed to small sofa but a full almost Full size bed.. I have ordered this couch twice in 5 years for different places. I like the firmness of it. I have sciatica and back pain so soft sesting exacerbates my discomfort. I got the orange one before and this time I went with the brown. The color actually looks much better in person. I thought it would be a drabby dull brown but it is nice! I even like the pillows. The delivery team drilled legs on this one. I don't think my first one had legs so that was a nice upgrade in design that makes it easy to move around. I love and re-ordered this sofa for it's compact size, storage, firmness and its dual bed functionality. The price has gone up and down over the years and even after I bought it.
