This is a big upgrade from our previous glass cooktop. All of the knobs (previous model) are now touch screen, so much easier to clean around, maintain, etc. The downdraft is also a lot easier to maintain with a basket to catch anything that falls. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently put this 30" induction cooktop in as part of a kitchen renovation, and it looks incredibly sleek. It fits the new space perfectly. If you are on the fence about switching to induction and aren't quite ready to fully commit, I highly recommend a hybrid setup like this. I paired this 30" unit with a gas burner next to it, and it's the perfect size to get you used to this new way of cooking. Honestly though, induction has become so fast and precise that I’m not even sure how much I’ll actually use the gas burner moving forward. You won't regret making the jump. The touch panel controls do take a little bit of getting used to if you're coming from traditional knobs, but it's a quick adjustment. By far, the absolute best part about it is how easy it is to clean, but I am more cautious with it now just to keep it looking pristine. One piece of advice if you are renovating: Make sure you double-check the depth of the unit before you finalize your cabinets. You will most likely need to cut into the cabinet frame below to make it fit properly. Overall, it's a gorgeous, low-maintenance upgrade. Great downdraft vent! Rises high enough to pull most smoke and steam away from all pans, much of it from the front burners, but the back burners are a no-brainer - nothing escapes, especially when the fan is turned to high. Fan control is smoothly variable from almost silent to roaring hurricane strength. Recommend that you use a large diameter vent to the outside to prevent back pressure (we have a 6" adapted down at the fan). We cook A LOT, and we're a longtime Bosch family, and even though it's taking some getting used to cooking on induction vs. open flame, in general we're loving this appliance because it fits our limited available space, it's very intuitive to use, and it's super-easy to clean! On "con" = we find we're having to be extra-careful not to drag heavy pots across the cooktop (as we'd gotten used to doing on the very rugged cast iron grate of our gas cooktop at home) - this induction cooktop surface definitely feels more "delicate" than our gas cooktop grate.
