The side seams are unobtrusive, and part of the charm of this type of glass. The goblet is large enough to hold a generous pour. They go through the dishwasher well. The set of six glasses are packed in LaRochere boxes with cardboard dividers. That box was shipped in a larger well-cushioned crate. One of my goblets arrived with a crack in it. The La Rochere Perigord design features flat cut sides and a button stem. The inspiration is from 18th-century glasses when during the reign of Louis XVI people started using different services of glassware for different wines.
