I recently purchased the Ophelia Solid Wood Platform Bed in the Chalk finish (King size) and I couldn’t be happier. This bed is everything I wanted and more. The chalk color is beautiful — it has that perfect weathered, driftwood look with subtle white undertones that make the natural wood grain pop without looking too gray or too brown. It blends effortlessly with both modern and farmhouse styles. The headboard has a lovely curved, traditional shape that adds character and elegance to the room. What really impressed me is the quality of the solid wood. It feels incredibly sturdy and heavy-duty. No creaking, no wobbling — even with two adults and our energetic dog jumping on it. The platform design is excellent the slats are strong and evenly spaced, so I was able to ditch the box spring entirely. Assembly was straightforward (though two people definitely help with the headboard), and everything lined up perfectly. It looks high-end but didn’t break the bank. I saw the Welling bedroom set and I just had to have it. I have looked at sets for years, but this was the one!! It is a very detailed set with a French style front, English back and with a Bombay curved shape. It is truly a luxurious and stunning design. It is oversized furniture so it takes up a fair amount of room. The top drawer in each piece is lined with felt. It has side metal drawer glides, scrolled legs with carvings, and antique pull-ring handles. The drawers have dovetailed drawers for sturdiness. Now for the Bed…. They were out of the Welling Brand Bed so I saw that this Glendo was the same bed so I ordered it. I wanted to explain the positives of the set at the beginning of the review. This vintage bedroom set really makes a statement and this bed is the piece de resistance of the set. The bed has an arched headboard with beautiful carved wood designs around the edges. The wood is scored and rubbed to give it a distressed look. The footboard dips downward instead of arching and has the same floral carvings. On both there is beautiful button tufting with upholstery material that is an antique white color polyester blend. It is a fair amount of work to assemble the bed so you definitely need 2-3 people to get it accomplished. You will need a box spring and mattress for this set. There is an 8” clearance under the bed. The overall weight capacity is 650 lb. for the king size bed. The Headboard is 88.98” W x 89.25” L and the Footboard height is 30.24”. The overall height is 75.6” and it weighs 220 lbs. The footboard had a scrape and 2 areas lacking in paint. So Wayfair offered to replace it or give a 20% discount. They are very good with their customer service!
