If this piece is a combination of solid wood and manufactured wood, I sure as heck can't tell the difference. It's a SOLID piece that honestly feels like all natural wood. That wasn't the best part. My husband and I recently moved into a new home and elected to not bring any of our furniture from our prior one. Suffice to say, I have been assembling LOTS and LOTS of furniture and accent pieces. Lots! This one was the easiest to assemble to date. Did it myself and I'm in my late 60's. Piece of cake. And the end result was lovely. The ONLY negative I can think to say is that I wish that there was an access hole in the back of the top white exposed shelf. I bought this for underneath a corner mounted TV and wanted the soundbar to go there. No biggie, I'll just get out my drill and make a hole for the power cord to pass thru. Sigh. It's true. Made of wood, not flimsy particle board. Assembly is easy. but reading the directions is essential. This is not a piece you can just "wing", and assembly is best with two people. Note that only the top section lights. I'm not a fan of the yellow tone bulb and hope to be able to replace the bulb with one of more white light. The doors shut tight, and the unit sits level.
