Once assembled, it looks great and works as advertised. As others have noted, it's definitely a project to get put together. The unit comes in 6 boxes and you'll need help for at least 2 of the assembly steps. The bed has to fit flush to the wall (attached to studs) and the instructions call for cutting the baseboard to make this happen. I didn't want to cut the baseboard (rental unit) so I firred out the back of the unit with 1x painted trim although you could also cut a notch in the bottom of the bed cabinet. If your mounting over an electrical outlet you may need to move one of the back supports up or down to clear the outlet. You'll want an outlet available so you can connect the built-in USB port and maybe put up some lights inside the cabinet. There's a gap between the head of the mattress and the wall when the bed is down, so there's no headboard to lean against, just fyi. This unit perfectly utilized a tiny 8x10 “bedroom” in my 126-year-old house. I use it as a multi-purpose guest room (for one) and craftoffice area. It’s super resourceful and space-saving which I love and wouldn’t have otherwise conceived would be possible given how tiny the room is. That being said It’s a great deal for what you get, but what you get is a fully occupied weekend for AT LEAST two people, and that’s if you’re familiar with assembling furniture, which I am. This was hands-down the most tedious and time-consuming piece I’ve ever assembled—however, I expected that to be the case and prepared myself for it. I would advise separating all the parts by step (hardware especially) beforehand to prevent stupid mistakes like using screws on step 37 that were meant to be used on step 13. Every detail matters. I am single but I can see how this project could potentially end in divorce. All in all, it’s a great piece for the money—just prepare yourself for not just hours, but DAYS of labor. Highly recommend for the patient DIY folks. The instructions aren’t great but they rarely are. Fortunately there are QR codes on each step which link to videos showing the guys in the factory assembling it. I had to come back and edit my review because at first when opening the boxes I was pleasantly surprised to to see that it was actually painted solid wood and not veneer or wrapped MDF. As we started putting it together there was imperfections in the pant and the screws were to long and popped through the finished.
