This Globe is a Traditional Floor Globe featuring physical earth landmass shadings and blue ocean styling with 1,000's of up-to-date geographic points of reference, borders and topographical features. Whether identifying places of travel or current events, this globe makes an excellent functional decor piece for any for home, office or library with its clear and easy to read cartography. The cord exits the globe at the attachment between the globe and meridian at the south pole and includes an inline switch to easily turn the globe on and off. This globe stand is an authentic reproduction. It is an unidentified concept for one of the Prairie Homes that is designed in the early 1900s. The only marking on the drawing is in his handwriting and says, ''Something like this.'' The proportions, and interpretation, of the drawing were calculated based on the scale of other drawings from this time period.

This is a well-made, accurate globe with a raised relief to represent topography like mountain ranges. My one complaint is that the color of the holder looks a little darker in the online picture as though it were an antique brass finish, and the actual color is bright golden (spray-painted steel?), so uniform in color that it almost looks plastic.
