These shelves are beautiful wood and are pretty deep. I love the color as well. I wanted something to put plants on and they are solid holding a lot of weight. I had a bit of trouble putting them up because the studs in my wall weren't spaced right they were to far apart to hit two studs. I ended up using one stud and 4 drywall anchors. The shelf itself is beautiful. The wood has a rich finish, the craftsmanship feels solid, and it looks great once it’s up. Unfortunately, the hanging hardware is the problem. The shelf uses a cleat-style mounting system, but the included anchors do not hold securely in the wall. Because of that, the shelf slopes forward, which makes it hard to actually use because I don’t feel comfortable placing items on it. Replacing the anchors and screws also is not as simple as a quick swap, since the replacement pieces need to work with the existing cleat-style hardware. I’m concerned about finding something that fits properly and holds securely. Overall, the shelf is very attractive and the wood is beautiful, but the included mounting hardware really affects the functionality. I would recommend it for the look and quality of the shelf itself, but I’d suggest being prepared to replace or upgrade the hanging hardware before relying on it to hold anything.. Janell. When this wood is reclaimed and made into this gorgeous set of shelves, all of its authentic beauty remains. We do not add to or take away from any of the natural distressing that has occurred from decades of use. You will see nail holes, screw holes, nails, discoloration, scratches, dents, and many other variations. Each of these markings is a glimpse into the history of your shelves. You may see holes from a mortise and tenon joint or other time-honored wood joining techniques. You may notice where a hinge or hook is used to hang. No two pieces of wood are the same - that is what makes these shelves so special! They are one of a kind. They have a long story already, and when you bring them into your home, that story continues with you.
