This beam is constructed out of ¾” thick Aspen wood and is 6 1/2" tall. You choose the length and depth. Each piece of wood is unique and will have more or less character/knots than the other. It is designed to look like a solid beam without weight. The distressed beams are painted either black or white and have the edges sanded over and a brown stain/wax applied for a distressed look. The distressed beams will not be a solid color. Easy to install utilizing a French cleat mounting bracket which is included. Screws are not included. You will need to purchase 3" screws for the application you will be attaching the bracket to. Wood is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be adhered to. These shelves are solid, sturdy and true to the color you see online. I can’t speak to how easy they are to install, because we are waiting for the room to be painted before we install them. Absolutely love these shelves!! We need the perfect something for the kitchen wall that had no cabinets and these shelves were definitely it. Perfect size and fit for what we wanted. Look great and so easy to install. It has a video that shows yiu exactly how to install them. Maybe took 10 minutes to have them both up and sturdy on the wall.
