The microphone on my android phone and my iPad is on the top, not the bottom and then following the video I tried to make it work from the bottom and it was never going to work, also, you have to make sure your volume is way up and then there is no issue setting anything on this clock alarm clock. I am also going to write to the company and apologize because it was my mistake not theirs if you want a really beautiful thing by your bedside to make you smile every day this is well worth the money , but I am only giving it four stars because they do give you video guidance setting up the app but show the phone they are using w microphone on bottom. Block is an alarm clock with a small but strong appearance. A fusion of aesthetics and functionality, and a compromise between delicacy and robustness. The design is simple, but with a lot of surprising details. At night the fluorescent hands will become visible and the whole dial can be lit up by pushing the snooze button on top.

There is everything to love about this clock. It looks deceptively simple but does everything I expect of an alarm clock. Small enough to fit most anywhere but the dial is large and easy to read. Hands light up in the dark and with a touch of the top button, the dial lights up but comes on "low" and gradually becomes bright and fades, all in a few seconds but enough time to read the dial well. It's lightweight. Does not have a ticking sound at all. Takes an AA battery. The back comes off easily. No prying! Alarm and time set dials work well and are easy to reach. Snooze button on top. The earth clock is the reproduction of the original classic, the Ball clock, that Takenobu Igarashi designed for OUN in 1987. There are two styles of the clock face and two colors of the clock body (black and white). Two variations are available, one has grooving on the clock surface and the other is in the form of a smooth sphere (earth clock less). At that time when Igarashi started to design clocks, he noticed that he had never seen a clock with a spherical shape. The sphere shape makes us imagine the earth. The ocean, which covers 70% of the earth, is expressed on the clock body. The remaining 30%, the land where we live, is expressed on the clock face covered by a transparent dome. On the clock face that symbolizes the land, the one end of the second hand looks like it is chasing the other end. Looking at this clock may lead us to lose track of time.

One note for potential buyers: the front, top and sides of the "black" clock are actually wood-grained charcoal grey plastic. Only the back is black. I will keep it because the clock's size, design and functionality were my priorities.
