Took 24 minutes to build and was very easy to put together. Scan the code and watch the video much easier then looking at the pictures. The photo showed a height of 24.8" its actually 25.2" which made it not fit under my desk but the specifications shows 26" so should've read that. This is a beautiful piece of office furniture. Looks very good. Took about 3 hours to put together. If you are not good with reading instructions fully get help. It's somewhat strong, but I would only use it for hanging file folders. The bottoms of the draws are made with some sort of hardboard and the weight is not sufficient to hold much of anything else in my opinion. They are just slid into slots on the bottom. File cabinet is a nice piece of furniture but it was a beast to assemble. It took me six hours to assemble it; two of the six hours could have been avoided if I have secured the cabinet to the wall. After assembling the cabinet and placing the folders it was really wobbly, so I decided to secure the cabinet to the wall. The product comes with an incomplete manual for someone assembling a metal item for the first time; the guide shows a black cabinet, and the steps aren't clearly visible—I had to use a magnifying glass to see better because the instructions weren't clear. Near the end of the assembly, the filing cabinet wouldn't close properly; I thought I had done something wrong, and since disassembling it is difficult, I ended up damaging the side where the lock is located by forcing it, so I didn't take it apart. I really regretted the purchase. I called Wayfair; their customer service wasn't bad, but returning it would have cost over $38—not to mention the hassle of getting it to the drop-off point. They offered me a discount if I kept it and recommended an assembly company they work with, but when the technician arrived, he said he couldn't do it because something didn't line up right. So, it remains in a state where it doesn't close properly; I have to use force to both open and close it. The dark purple is a great color - file cabinets are fine for the price point. One of the two I ordered has a sizable dent on one corner. It it was to be in a corner or not viewable from two sides, I would be ok with it. However, it is being used to support wood for a desk in a brand new church office and plain to see.
