I ordered the slate gray and they are definitely not gray if you're really looking for that color. They are a nice color of pale blue (see photos) and the sheets are soft and appear to be good quality. They had a strong odor upon opening the box but once washed they are fine. Yes, they are expensive and worth every penny! I'm not sure WHY the title has the word "Sateen" in the description. These are the same SUPERIOR brand sheets I have purchased for 12-15 years and they are 100% Egyptian Cotton and sturdy not thin like many of sateen sheets are. So far I love these sheets! They are comfortable and not slippery like other sheets I had. They washed up nicely. I especially like the extra deep pockets on the fitted sheet. They are 18" deep which keeps my 3' topper from being compressed and allows it to be "springy." I'm thinking of buying a few more sets in different colors. The only negative thing is these sheets had a strange smell when I opened the package. But after I washed them on warm water and with an extra rinse, there's no more smell. Some reviews said they were wrinkly but not if you get them out of the dryer as soon as they are done. There are a few minor wrinkles but nothing I can't live with.
