This one, for example, is made in the USA and crafted from felt. Arriving in gray color and rectangular shape, this piece can be trimmed with regular household scissors to fit your area rug. To clean, we recommend spraying it off with water and leaving it out to dry.

This product is recommended to prevent slippage, act as a buffer to minimize abrasion and protect your floors. A good quality pad will also provide airflow between your floor and the rug. Airflow allows the rug to breathe, which in turn will extend the rug's life. Rug pads may also prevent the crushing and wearing of a pile after heavy use.

I am very happy with this rug pad. It's as described. I ordered it to fit the size of my rug - so I didn't have to personally cut it, but you could if needed.
