I read all the reviews and knew the pros and cons ppl were saying. My only disappointment with this lamp is that the finials are very cheap looking… not a heavy brass plated look. I decided to keep the lamps because I love everything else about them. I did read where some ppl felt the gold on the base looked cheap but I didn’t think so, just the finials…but you really can’t tell once the finials are in place. The lamps are a classy timeless look! Love this little lamp. It’s fun that it’s touch controlled and can be three different levels of light. The picture is the lamp at its brightest level in a fairly dark room. The marble base is substantial and this lamp will not tip over. It has 2 light sockets and puts out a decent amount of ambient light in the space. There is some weight overall to the lamp and it looks more expensive than it actually is. The gold color is quite nice and not cheap looking. I would not use it in my master bedroom as I prefer lamps the cast light in all directions, including upwards. But for ambient secondary lighting, this is perfect! I love it!
