Farmhouse Window Film

These thin, translucent films provide privacy while still allowing natural light to enter the room. Films are easily applied to any smooth glass surface. They do not use adhesives and are easily removed if needed. They can be trimmed or combined to fit any size window. The images have a repeating pattern left to right and top to bottom and can be used either vertically or horizontally. When I receive this film, I did not think it would look very good as the geometric shapes were larger than expected. Once I installed it, I loved the pattern and how easy it was to install. So far so good! This is an affordable temporary solution to my mirrored closet situation. I didn’t want my bed facing mirrors for feng shui reasons and I plan to swap out the mirror doors later once I’m more settled in. On the meantime this is a great way to displace the mirror surface without losing the light. I will be buying more to finish the effect. This design is very pretty, and I love it! There is barely any odor, and it dissipated right away. My one-bedroom apartment has a slim window next to the front door with window blinds. I keep the blinds slightly open for more light and to feel less closed in. I wanted a privacy film to be able to have the blinds open and create more light and openness, as apartment living usually means a unit's windows all face one direction. The door and this slim window face a different direction. It's not full coverage/privacy, and that's okay. Someone outside would have to put their face right up to get a clear view of the inside, and I doubt anyone would be doing that. I've included photos from the inside and outside my door, plus during different times of the day with varying sunlight, and with the blinds how I used to keep them closed. There is a little bit of rainbow effect, depending on how much sunlight hits the film. Note #1: from the outside, a lot of soap/water bubbles showed, and it's necessary to keep smoothing them out. You may not see the bubbles from outside if your window is above the first floor with no way to easily access it from outside, but then it won't matter anyway. I used a microfiber cloth for the finishing touches. Note #2: while applying and smoothing out the water, have a cloth to soak up the water that will be getting squeezed out to the edges. The product itself is great, it's as pictured. It was a little hard for me to install because my windows are kind of hard for me to reach. You will need a squeegee to install it and a spray bottle with soapy water. It would have been helpful to have a box cutter and a large ruler as well. My edges turned out a little sloppy because of my poor cutting with scissors. Overall they serve their purpose of distracting from the ugly view out of my window. Using Tips.1. Clean the surface of the window or mirror glass with a rag before use.2.Measure the size of the decorative place and use a ruler to measure the size of the window film to cut it out.3. This window cling/film is much prettier than it looks in the images. I ordered this to cover a window that gets late afternoon sun that just bakes our stairwell. Be smart and order bigger than you need, though: get the correct measurements for height and width specifically and don't kid yourself. A 17" width means you can't turn the cling sideways unless your window is perfectly square! There is a pattern on all these clings and turning them doesn't necessarily work.. Anonymous. This is a great idea and it would look much better if I wasn't the installer. Good news is that there is more if I decide to work on it more. I ordered it because I live alone and the open glass unnerved me at night. I have a shade but can't put it lower than the center because I can't let my cat reach it.
