It wasn't difficult to assemble but did take about 6.5 hours to complete with one person, and while it came with a small screwdriver, I would highly recommend just using your own larger screwdriver, if you have it, to spare your fingers.. I received my bookcase shelf cabinet in record time with it packed very well in strong cardboard box with all the styrofoam you would ever want to protect it. It was very heavy and I had to open it outside and carry it in by pieces, so be prepared ! All parts were clearly marked and instructions were easy to understand. Be very careful when assembling that the pieces are correct as to front and back! I had to take it apart at stage 1213 because I had them wrong! When adding part P at stage 9 is important to do it right!! I didn’t put supports on back because I like the look without them and it seems strong enough without them. I am very happy with the outcome and it is very attractive once put together, but this was not the easiest project I have done! It could have been easier, as I have put together many cabinets !. I got two of these and they are perfect. My father made some kind of extended anti-tipping wall anchors since I wanted the shelves on a wall with a baseboard heater so they were a bit far from the wall for the anchors they come with. I included photos. Please ignore my empty photo frames. I needed to stage the shelves so I'll know exactly how it all fits. The shelves are a beautiful color and exactly what I was looking for. Looks great, sturdy, but overengineered in some places while underengineered in others. The good part: 1) Looks great 2) Lots of storage space 3) Can move shelves around to create bigger/smaller spaces The bad: 1) Assembly took forever. I don't understand why you need three screws for each hinge door and then three additional screws to attach to the side panel for EACH hinge. Two is the standard for a reason. 2) Don't understand why most of the screws are black, the door stoppers are brown, and the magnets and door screws are silver. Exactly what I needed, and wish I had ordered two years ago. I was thinking it was a little bigger, But THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID! I would order again, and now I need one half the width to put next to it. It looks great, nice finish. I mean they went out of the way to put the wood grain in the design x pattern on the door it's like Farm style. Takes a while to put together, and took a week longer to get them they said. But for something that weighs 95 lb and was brought straight to my front door what more can ask for. We are using this as a shoe cabinet. Wayfair calls it a bookshelf, but I don’t think I would ever recommend it for books — the shelves are not adjustable and are way too short for books. They are perfect for our shoes, though! Even our boots fit nicely on the taller shelves. I am giving four stars because the construction of the doors, though cute, is not very sturdy at all. If you have active pets or kids I think they’re likely to break easily. Hopefully ours hold up since it’s in an out of the way location in our home, but only time will tell.
