This is a very nice cabinet. Assembly is the cam and lock style which is very common for furniture. If you've done that before, assembly is easy. If you haven't, just go slow and follow the directions. They are pretty self-explanatory. Assembly can be done by one person, but there are a couple steps where it would be helpful to have a second set of hands. I ordered 4 of the large book cases and 4 of the smaller ones same style to make my built in unit for my office. The shelves were very fast and easy to put together. I was able to modify the smaller shelves to stack them to complete the built in.
