It wasn't difficult to assemble but did take about 6.5 hours to complete with one person, and while it came with a small screwdriver, I would highly recommend just using your own larger screwdriver, if you have it, to spare your fingers.. We are using this as a shoe cabinet. Wayfair calls it a bookshelf, but I don’t think I would ever recommend it for books — the shelves are not adjustable and are way too short for books. They are perfect for our shoes, though! Even our boots fit nicely on the taller shelves. I am giving four stars because the construction of the doors, though cute, is not very sturdy at all. If you have active pets or kids I think they’re likely to break easily. Hopefully ours hold up since it’s in an out of the way location in our home, but only time will tell. This is a very attractive bookcase that took two people three hours to assemble. The style, materials and finish are just what I wanted. However, I deducted one star because there were issues with some of the parts. I have reported the damages and am awaiting replacements. Wayfair is always excellent about making good on any damaged parts so I expect that everything will be resolved satisfactorily. Altogether a lovely piece of furniture.. Mary S. South Orange Nj.
