The only thing to do is twist the tree onto the pot and fluff up all the tree branches. Each branch, leaf, and twig on this tree are separate. So you can easily bend and fluff in the ways you like. The lights come separate from the tree. So you do need to string them on. With those being separate you can replace or change them out easily. That’s a nice feature. The fairy lights included in this have a timer that with one click will set the timer, and 2 clicks will do a steady ON mode. The timer goes 6 hours ON and 18 hours OFF. I recently bought this faux tree and a couple others to brighten up my new living room. Fun decorating idea, and combined with the other trees, it does a great job of block the view of a nearby rooftop. I love the coloring of the leaves of this tree! It’s fun that it lights up when you want it – my only hesitation is that the tree base is wrapped in a brown paper and does not look very real at all. I wish it was a more molded plastic tree base, but it will still work in my project. I do like the height of it and the variation between the maroon and pumpkinorange coloring is really pretty if you don’t want to use a typical green tree. As a designer, I have ordered this tree multiple times for different projects, and I love it every time! My only complaint is that the times I have ordered it, the black fake dirt in the top of the pot has come in cracked every time, but Wayfair is very quick to either replace or discount it to make up for it. Their customer service is amazing! I still love this tree, and I put it in my own pot and put rocks around the bottom so it doesn’t tip, anyway.
