Thais entertainmentbook shelf unit came in 4 huge heavy boxes. Thank goodness my husband had help from my visiting daughter otherwise we would have never gotten them in the house. Hubby opened the first box, hoping to find directions and hardware. We finally found them in box 3. If you like hardware, you will love putting this unit together. My husband discovers all boxes have pieces that go with each aspect of the unit so we would not have room in our living room for assembly. While moving box one down the stairs leading into the garage, my husband pulled his back out. The box landed safely. My daughter and I managed to get to the kitchen. First of all I love it! I could not believe though that the shelves were not made of clear glass so the lights illuminate both the top and bottom. So I bought two 11X14 picture frames, cheap at the dollar store, and used just the glass and the frame as shelves. They fit perfectly. I then used one of the wood shelves as a base for my subwoofer. A beautiful solid piece. There’s a remote for lighting and for fireplace itself, great feature if you don’t want them both on at all times. Assembly was easy and straight forward. I was very surprised how well this went together, everything was fairly easy and smooth until I got to installing the door hinges. I figured it out though and it looks great. I really like the fire feature, I was afraid it would look fake and tacky but it doesn’t at all. It has a very nice glow and I can’t wait to turn it on during the winter and create some nice ambience in the house. Love the top of this fireplace!! It’s hollow but looks beautiful. We love the look of this fireplace even the original color looked nice. The other reviews are true the panels chip very easy at the corners but it wasn’t a problem for us bc we wanted a black fireplace. It’s kind of silly we bought this to paint it BUT we loved the look just not the color we wanted plus it was on sale and other black fireplaces were over 1500 dollars so we saved 800 with a little labor..
