Because these are food-safe and we have to add a food-safe sealer, they will be a little shiny at first. But with time and use, that will diminish. It is a handmade product and will never be "perfect" That is what makes them rustic and beautiful. Tone, smoothness, shape, etc, are all rustic and never machine-made. Please keep that in mind when you buy these. Color tones and sizes may vary from bowl to bowl.
