We purchased an unfinished Haelynn solid wood 2-door corner cabinet. The cabinet arrived sooner than expected and was well-packaged, so there was no damage. This pine cabinet has soft-close hinges. The right door has a strip that eliminates a gap when the doors are closed (close the right door first). The top is made of strips of wood pieced together but looks good. To finish, we sanded with 180 grit sandpaper, then applied wood conditioner, golden oak Minwax stain, four coats of Minwax warm satin polyurethane with a brush, then finished with one coat of wipe-on poly, sanding with 320 grit sandpaper between coats of poly. It looks nice, though it is a pressboard, but I will say the back panels are thicker which is nice (and not those folding sheets that usually are on back of most other pressboard shelves). It definitely needs the brackets though to hold to the wall as it does seem real top heavy without them. I was really happy to find a tall cabinet style here that fits my decorating needs. But after installation, I found that the glass doors just wouldnt close properly. Its a quality issue—the magnets arent strong enough to hold the doors against the front frame. This left me quite disappointed. I got this Bookshelf because it was the perfect size for the space. The assembly instructions were straightforward (pay attention to the orientation of the pieces in the drawing).
