I really like this desk. I think its great. However, I only recommended it for those ready for the technical and physical challenges and have the skills, time, and patience for assembling things like this. The instructions describe the general order of assembly and are insufficient on certain details. It comes in five boxes, so be sure to do a complete inventory before starting. I spent more than 24 hours (with break times) for unpacking, inventory, and assembly, including getting the drawers and doors operating smoothly to running, wrapping, and placement of power, video, and data cables so that they are just right. Beautiful desk! I chose to pay the assembly fee which resulted in three handmen working for two hours straight to assemble the desk. While the instructions did not appear to be confusing or difficult, there were a lot of tiny parts so it was time-consuming. My only recommendation to the designer is to make the hole for the power cord slightly larger as it is impossible to run a cord through the back of the desk once it has been assembled.. Morgan. A replacement (from TX) was ordered and arrived not boxed with corner protectors/top and bottom cardboard pieces completely damaged and unusable. A second replacement came (from TX) and arrived in even worse condition (both tops had screws missing and screw holes stripped so won't stay on with screws provided, cracks on all sides, dents, etc.). I asked for a return label so whomever can inspect and see how badly damaged they are coming from TX. Third replacement sent from New Jersey or maybe Virginia- I cannot remember. Arrived in perfect condition like the first did. Customer service could not be better, but I'd call to order this piece with customer service and beg that it comes NOT from Texas. Love the two working ones and recommend 100%... again, if not arriving from Texas! I'm sharing damaged photos of last one sent, but not of two we kept, b/c they fit description perfectly.. Christina. Beautiful, sturdy desk. Gave 4 stars due to four of the pre-drilled holes not being complete by the manufacturer. My husband had to use his electric drill to complete the holes and doing this a piece of the veneer chipped off. Thankfully this chipped veneer piece is small and cannot be seen. If the manufacturer had correctly made the holes for the screws then my husband would not have had to use his electric drill. Overall desk is very nice and perfect for my home office.. April.
