It’s light weight on my washer and dryer but not so light weight that when peed on it goes through. I went on vacation and my dog had a couple accidents while I was gone in between someone coming and letting her out. It protected my floors underneath it wonderfully. I through it in the washer when I got home and the floors where dry and the rug was easy to pick up and put in. It dried fast and easy unlike other rugs I’ve had in the past. I didn’t have to hang it up and wait a day or two to dry and it doesn’t peel or tear it in the laundry. I also want to say how soft the rug is. The backing is nonslip and I tried it on both wood floors and carpet, didn’t budge. I am completely obsessed that on top of everything you can wash it!
