Sturdy. Very low, as described. 1 star was removed because of the instructions. If it were sold in a furniture store, 5 stars! But it's Wayfair and instructions are important. The assembly instructions were Horr-i-ble. Either you should pay someone to assemble it, or you better be REALLY good and patient with bad instructions. Good luck! Pleased with my purchase. The queen size bed frame and headboard came in excellent condition. The construction appears solid. Assembly took less than 30 minutes. However, if you arent very familiar with furniture assembly instructions, you may struggle a little as none of the pieces were labeled with the numbers used in the instructions. It works with our new 16-inch-high mattress and adjustable base, although the headboard does look a little short with such a tall mattress and base.
