This table is very sturdy and heavy! It works great in our short term rental dining room. The finish had imperfections upon arrival and a new table top was sent to us, but it also had some imperfections in the veneer surface. It now has a "well loved" look and a bit of a patina so it actually works well for us. The first image shows the size with one additional insert, it comes with one other insert, so it can extend to quite a length. The other two images show the type of imperfections that are across most of the surface. The white bits and the cup ring are shown after a good cleaning with a damp cloth and they are not removable. Just attach the legs- period! The screw holes are threaded metal and perfectly located. The extension is automatically brought up when you pull on the end of the table. It is very smooth operating! The table arrived with busted up packaging. This was clearly not from shipping as the damage was not on the external packing, rather the internal styrofoam packaging was so badly broken up that there are still styrofoam valls all over my house days late despite best efforts. Additionally, one of the table top pieces was busted at the corner. Since this is from the manufacturingpackaging process and not shipping, I am rating it lower than the table itself necessarily deserves. I spent a long time looking at dining tables before finally ordering the Gael table in black, and I’m really happy I did. The first thing I noticed was how nice it looks in person. The black finish is clean and modern, and it honestly looks way more expensive than it actually is. It’s one of those pieces that makes the whole dining room feel more put together. The table is also much sturdier than I expected. It’s heavy, feels well made, and doesn’t wobble at all. The size is perfect too. It comfortably fits our family with plenty of room left over, but it doesn’t take over the entire room. Assembly was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I put it together by myself without any problems. The instructions were easy to follow, and everything lined up the way it should. Overall, this has been a great purchase. It’s good quality, feels solid, and has the high-end look I wanted without spending a fortune. If you’re thinking about buying it, I definitely recommend it.
