Sooo, I was so excited about this piece and it totally delivered. I remembered reading in the reviews how the predrilled holes weren’t lining up for some for the shelf. I ignored and then same thing happened to me. I had to improvise to cover the gap seen in the first pic. It worked out and I’m very happy with it still! Afterwards, I realized that I had switched the panels from how they’re supposed to be. Just pay attention because it matters which panel you put on either side. If they panels aren’t butting up next to each other like they should be when screwing in the shelf (first step), then switch them! Have had this in bedroom across 4 different apartments and love it. First time I purchased it I hired someone to mount it because I didn't want it to fall, but then the next time was able to do it myself with a friend helping. And after that, was able to just mount it myself but it takes a little longer. If you plan to put this somewhere unconventional (i.e. not a living room where wall studs are often found in more areas where you'd possibly put a TV up), I'd just double check to make sure you know where you're putting it and if you'll need to purchase heavy duty anchors separately. Also you won't really be able to put any media or entertainment systems on it like a traditional TV stand as it's not big enough, but you're buying this for the aesthetic not the functionality.. Looks cool but arrived in a slightly damaged box, wrapped very amateurly. Color looks blander in person. I have to repaint. Biggest downside was all the piece seemed unfinished in a sense that there’s still wood dust all over the , like they just cut it and didn’t care to clean residue before sending. Dino. The shelves are made of solid wood. Although the mounting hardware looks a bit flimsy at first, the shelves feel very stable once they are properly anchored to the wall.
