Solid wall, brick or concrete walls are required for installing our murphy bed. Please ensure that the wall thickness is sufficient for the provided screws. Secure the bed firmly to the wall before operating the murphy bed.

We are very satisfied with the Farmhouse Murphy Bed. The actual product is well represented online, including the color. It took my husband about 12 hours to assemble by himself. It would go a bit faster with a second person. There were a lot of pieces and he did follow the instructions which were well written. The only reason 4 vs 5 stars due to the following: assembly time (it still would take a while for 2 people to assemble) and the cabinet would look better with screw caps giving it a finished look. No one has slept on it yet, but assume it will be fairly comfortable for guests. We would have gone with a thicker mattress but followed the guidelines to make sure the cabinet would close. The slats seem to support the mattress. We hope the mattress does not slide around too much once someone tries to sleep on it. The bed does have to be weighted down to keep it from rising off the floor if no one is on the bed. See photos showing foot of bed not weighted down and weighted down with ankle weights. We plan to place a side table to offer a night stand. The small shelf looks a bit flimsy, so we will be cautious. I am not very tall and was able to open and close with ease. I was initially skeptical…will I like, will I not and if not how much will it cost me to ship back But I can tell you this unit is indeed a KEEPER! Structurally well built. Instructional pictures could be a bit bigger and some of the parts didn’t have letter stickers but overall well pleased. Daughter loves lights. The new memory foam is just released and is still inflating so it looks weird. We went with the 10” mattress so it should come right up to the bottom of the headboard/side board. This cabinet is beautiful, easily one of the best-looking cabinet beds I’ve come across. However, as another reviewer mentioned, the drawer is very difficult to pull out on a rug. I initially thought it wouldn’t be an issue since I have carpet, but I’m experiencing the same problem. Seems like it is only good for flooring which should be mentioned in the description. I also received two boards that were noticeably dinged up, so I’m taking off a star for that. Overall, though, it’s a stunning piece. All right so to start off, the bedframe is really big so if you get the kids size, you should probably think about getting the mattress first just because it might seem really big on the kids size. Now if you get the adult size that’s fine. Everyone can get whatever size they want but the adult size frame is gonna be probably pretty big. If I would think of it now the kids size is pretty big and my mattress does leave a little bit of space as you can see in the photos, but if you do get the adult size that is totally fine. Just thinking about getting the mattress first is a great opportunity. All right, so let’s move onto the drawers in the front if you have like all the cabinets and the drawers and whatever you put your stuff in take it up, then I think that this little space in the front right here is the best place to put it, and if you don’t put anything in there that’s fine, but you can if you want, if there is no space in your cabinet drawers. All right, so let’s move onto the final thing if you do want curtains, just be warned that they might not come with those if you want bows then make sure that you get them. Now, that is not a pretty big warning, but some people take it pretty seriously just because they don’t want anything getting in the way of their face so they’re they block out the curtains to look. I say it would look pretty nice, like I would think it looks pretty nice without the bows. It’s pretty cute too, just when you go inside it’s not that cute but when you lay down inside and your warm breath fills it up like if you don’t have the bows, it fills it up and then you get a really warm feeling inside the curtains so yeah I think that is my favorite reason why I got this bed. 5 stars for the bed but unfortunately, the experience took much longer than it should have. Our first delivery arrived incomplete, with only two pieces of wood—more than half of the bed was missing. We had to return it, and a full replacement shipment was sent, which delayed everything, including our assembly (which, of course, we still had to pay for). The new shipment did arrive with all the parts, but we also noticed some chipping and damage on the side. At that point, we decided to keep it because we were tired of going back and forth.
